ai-sirens

Emergency vehicle lights, three siren tones, airhorn and manual siren, firetruck and ambulance tones, and ONX lightbars.

ai-sirens gives the driver of an emergency vehicle control over its lights and siren. Every player near sees the lights and hears the same tone.

What it does in the game

Only emergency class vehicles (GTA class 18) listed in the panel get siren control. Sitting in the driver seat of one:

  • Lights. Q turns the emergency lights on or off. Turning the lights off also stops the siren.
  • Siren. Left Alt starts the siren on tone 1 (the lights must be on) or stops it.
  • Tone. Y switches to the next tone (1, 2, 3, back to 1) while the siren runs. With the siren off, holding it plays the manual siren.
  • Airhorn. Hold E for the airhorn.
  • Firetrucks keep their own wail on tone 1, and their airhorn and tone 3 are fire truck sounds. Ambulances (and other listed models) play the powercall on tone 1.
  • Leaving the car. With the panel's switch on, the siren sound stops when the driver gets out; the lights stay on.
  • ONX lightbars. An unmarked car with the ONX lightbar pack gets a lightbar picked by a tuning slot (slot 49 by default). Each player's game draws its own copy, and it flashes with the vehicle's lights. Vehicles with an ONX lightbar use the ONX tones.
  • GTA's far away police sirens that play on their own can be silenced.

Installation

Installed by the AI Core recipe. By hand: ensure ai-sirens after ai-core.

For lightbars, stream the ONX lightbar models (emergency-b-lightbars) and set the vehicle's tuning slot to a value from the panel's list (at a tuning shop or with your own script).

Add-on police, fire and ambulance cars must be added to Emergency vehicle models, or the server refuses their siren changes.

Commands

None.

Keybinds

Active only in the driver seat of an emergency vehicle. Players change them in GTA's key settings (FiveM section); the owner changes the defaults in the admin panel (Keybinds).

Default keyWhat it does
QSiren: emergency lights on / off
Left AltSiren: main siren on / off
YSiren: next tone (hold for the manual siren while it is off)
ESiren: airhorn (hold)

While driving an emergency vehicle, the game's horn, radio and cinematic camera keys are taken over by these.

Known limits

  • The server cannot read a vehicle's class, so it trusts the Emergency vehicle models list. An empty list lets every model change siren state.
  • The click sound from outside sound resources and pursuit mode tone sync of the original tgiann-siren-control are not included; a game sound plays instead of the click.
